Side note, Mel has repeatedly told me that it is inappropriate to refer to newborn children as larvae. I tend to agree, but I don’t have a better word to describe the existing dichotomy of the nature of Lucy being both fully human and simultaneously not seeming fully human yet. So know that I refer to this early life stage as larvae mode with as much love as possible, and does not in any way denigrate the love that I feel for my daughter. Continue reading →
